Cardarena ("we", "our", "the app") is a multiplayer card game developed by Intelektualcici. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
- Display name — chosen during registration, visible to other players.
- Age — provided during registration, used to verify you meet the minimum age requirement (16+).
b) Information Collected Automatically
- Google Play Games ID — used for authentication. We do not access your Google account email or personal Google profile data.
- Game activity data — gameplay statistics such as cards played, game sessions joined, rounds played, in-game currency balances, marketplace transactions, in-app notifications, and game performance results.
- Firebase Analytics data — anonymous app usage statistics including session duration, screens visited, and crash-free rates. This data is collected by Google Firebase and is not personally identifiable.
- Purchase data — when you make an in-app purchase, we receive a confirmation and purchase token from Google Play to verify the purchase and grant your items. Payments are processed by Google Play; we do not collect or store your payment card or billing details.
c) User-Generated Content
- Cards — challenge cards you create and submit. These become available to all players and include the card text, type, difficulty, and language.
- Custom skins — character skins you create from text descriptions. Created skins may be listed for sale to other players on the in-game marketplace.
- Ratings and reports — your votes on other players' cards.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your player account.
- To enable multiplayer game sessions and matchmaking.
- To display your name and selected skin to other players during games.
- To manage in-game economy (coins, diamonds, chests, skins, marketplace).
- To process in-app purchases and grant the purchased coins, diamonds, or items.
- To moderate user-generated content (card review, reports).
- To improve app performance and fix bugs via anonymous analytics.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Realtime Database, region: Europe West). Game data is also cached locally on your device using a local database to enable offline functionality.
We use industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and server-side validation to restrict data access.
4. Data Sharing
Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:
- Other players — your display name and selected skin are visible to other players in game sessions.
- Service providers — third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing). These providers only receive data necessary to perform their services.
- AI processing — the text you submit when creating a card or a custom skin is sent to OpenAI to automatically moderate the card or generate the skin image. When generating a skin, we also include your account identifier (user ID) so OpenAI can monitor for abuse. We do not send your display name, your profile, or any of your photos to OpenAI.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We do not sell personal data to third parties. We may use anonymized or aggregated data to improve the app or display relevant content.
5. Camera, Microphone and Recorded Videos
Cardarena can record a video of a player performing a card. This is the only feature that uses your camera or microphone, it is always started by you, and it never runs in the background or without a visible recording indicator on screen.
- We never receive the video. The camera and microphone feed is processed entirely on your device and written to a file on your device. No video, audio, image, frame, or anything derived from them is uploaded to our servers, sent to any third party, or used for analytics, advertising, training or any other purpose.
- We do not collect camera or microphone data at all. The permissions are requested by your operating system, you may refuse them, and you may withdraw them at any time in your device settings. Refusing the microphone still allows a silent recording; refusing the camera means the feature simply cannot be used.
- Where the video goes is your choice. Saving it places it in your device's photo gallery, where your own operating-system or cloud backup settings may copy it — those settings are outside our control. Sharing it sends it to whichever app or service you pick, and that service's own privacy policy then applies.
- What is in the video. Whatever your camera and microphone captured, plus a picture of the card being performed. That card may contain the names of players in your game, and may have been created by another player.
- Other people in the recording. If anyone besides you can be seen or heard, you are the one responsible for their agreement to being recorded — including for any minors, where a parent or guardian must agree. We have no way to verify this and do not attempt to.
- Temporary files. While a video is being produced, working files are kept in private app storage that other apps cannot read. They are deleted when the video is finished, and in any case within 24 hours.
6. Children's Privacy
Cardarena is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use this app. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete that data promptly.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — your profile information is visible within the app.
- Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app. This removes your data from both our servers and Firebase Authentication.
- Withdraw consent — you can stop using the app at any time.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
We may keep backup copies of our data for up to 30 days for security, backup, and app-improvement purposes. These copies are kept secure and are used only for these purposes.
If you delete your account, your profile, game history, pending submissions, marketplace listings, card ratings, and card reports are removed from our active systems, and your Firebase Authentication account is deleted. Any remaining backup copies are deleted within 30 days.
User-created cards that have been approved and added to the active card pool may remain in the system after account deletion, as they become part of the shared game content. Historical game sessions that involved other players may also retain minimal references for data integrity.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
