Cardarena ("we", "our", "the app") is a multiplayer card game developed by Intelektualcici. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

Display name — chosen during registration, visible to other players.
Age — provided during registration, used to verify you meet the minimum age requirement (16+).

b) Information Collected Automatically

Google Play Games ID — used for authentication. We do not access your Google account email or personal Google profile data.
Game activity data — gameplay statistics such as cards played, game sessions joined, rounds played, in-game currency balances, marketplace transactions, in-app notifications, and game performance results.
Firebase Analytics data — anonymous app usage statistics including session duration, screens visited, and crash-free rates. This data is collected by Google Firebase and is not personally identifiable.

c) User-Generated Content

Cards — challenge cards you create and submit. These become available to all players and include the card text, type, difficulty, and language.
Ratings and reports — your votes on other players' cards.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your player account.
To enable multiplayer game sessions and matchmaking.
To display your name and selected skin to other players during games.
To manage in-game economy (coins, diamonds, chests, skins, marketplace).
To moderate user-generated content (card review, reports).
To improve app performance and fix bugs via anonymous analytics.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Realtime Database, region: Europe West). Game data is also cached locally on your device using a local database to enable offline functionality.

We use industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and server-side validation to restrict data access.

4. Data Sharing

Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

Other players — your display name and selected skin are visible to other players in game sessions.
Service providers — third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g., hosting, analytics, advertising). These providers only receive data necessary to perform their services.
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We do not sell personal data to third parties. We may use anonymized or aggregated data to improve the app or display relevant content.

5. Children's Privacy

Cardarena is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use this app. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete that data promptly.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — your profile information is visible within the app.
Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app. This removes your data from both our servers and Firebase Authentication.
Withdraw consent — you can stop using the app at any time.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Game session data is temporary and is deleted when a game ends.

If you delete your account, your profile, game history, pending submissions, marketplace listings, card ratings, and card reports are removed from our servers. Your Firebase Authentication account is also deleted.

User-created cards that have been approved and added to the active card pool may remain in the system after account deletion, as they become part of the shared game content. Historical game sessions that involved other players may also retain minimal references for data integrity.

8. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Google Play Games Services — authentication
Google Firebase — database, cloud functions, analytics

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
